There is not much direct relation between amount of light and our research; however, if there is too much light, the sea ice will melt, which can cause dangerous situations for the expedition team who is mostly traveling on the sea ice. From April the sun will be up 24 hours a day, so people can work at night and children can also play all night long.

As far as snow sampling is concerned, it is not affected by the amount of light. They will take snow samples at any time they want.

It is pretty much light up here by now so it is no problem. And if it is required out of the situation we will of cause work at night. We are bringing small head lights which give us working light.
