Message from Kenn Borek Air Ltd.

In the spring of 1978, Japanese explorer Naomi Uemura became the first person to travel solo by dogsled across Canada's frozen Arctic to the North Pole. Kenn Borek Air Ltd. provided air and radio support from Resolute Bay throughout his 57 day journey and we were proud to be a part of this historic expedition.

We are pleased to sponsor Globel Edventure: Longitudinal Trip Around the World by providing air services during the 2005 "Arctic Canada" stage of this educational and inspiring project. Kenn Borek Air wishes Mitsuro Ohba and the members of his expedition all the best as they explore the beauty and fascination of Canada's Arctic region.

1978年の春、日本人探検家の植村直己氏は、極寒の地・カナダ北極圏から北極点までを、単独犬ゾリ行で踏破した、世界で最初の人になりました。 ケン・ボレック・エアーは、航空輸送と無線通信を通して、彼の57日間の旅をサポートいたしました。この歴史的なエクスペディションに関わることができたことを誇りに思っております。

今回、地球縦回り一周の旅という、素晴らしい教育プロジェクトの第二弾・カナダ北極圏編に、航空輸送の面でスポンサーできることを、とても光栄に感じております。 ケン・ボレック・エアーは、大場満郎氏そして隊員の皆さんが、カナダ北極圏の魅力・美しさを体験され、プロジェクトが成功を収めることを祈っております。
