Narita-Frankfurt-Copenhagen

The departure gate of Narita Airport was crowded with reporters and families including Ms. Araki, Mr. Nannichi and Mr. Nakajima of ANA. Many people waved at us as we set off. Of we go! On our journey to the Greenland!

The moment we landed in Frankfurt Airport, perfume like that of the sweet flower engulfed our senses. It was one of those moments when you know you have landed in a foreign land. Smells differ from one country to another. On top of such differences, there are smells of the "airport" that is again unique.

Mr. Hagiwara of ANA was waiting for us at the gate. Since we had to make a transit, we walked all around the airport on its huge isles, where airport staff greeted us on their bicycles. Bicycles play an important role in such a humongous airport. Mr Hagiwara has lived in Frankfurt since he was assigned there; he said he has lost 3 kilos just from walking around in the airport.

Our next destination on Lufthansa is Copenhagen, capital of Denmark. I closed my eyes as soon as I was seated, and when I woke up, the plane was already landing in our next destination.
