The Canadian Military

Early in the morning I received a phone call from Mr. Ohba at Eureka. He said, "This morning there will be a military flight from Resolute Bay to Eureka. So please ask Lucas (hotel manager) to talk to the pilots if they can transport our supplies." Immediately Lucas phoned the pilots and we carried the goods to the airport. At the airport a small airplane was waiting for us and the pilots were willing to help us out. Actually we had thought about chartering a flight by ourselves. So we are very grateful for their help.

They stayed in Afghanistan for 6 months last year.

They taught the local Inuit the shooting skills. In turn they were taught the Inuit's traditional survival skills.

Maple Syrup famous in Canada

Maple syrup is made by boiling down the sap of sugar maple. It is common in Japan also and eaten on pancakes. The above is maple syrup candy, which can be made as follows. First drop the maple syrup on the snow and place the snow over and leave it until it gets cold and harder. Then using a stick, scoop and lick the candy. It tasted like a starch syrup.
